GENEALOGICAL MYSTERIES TO SOLVE

We will help you with those ‘Brick Walls’ that family researchers regularly come up against!
We have photos without identification as to when, who and where…..maybe they’re your family member!!!
See our list of in stock family trees from the area…..
And come to one of our workshops to get your questions answered!

OUR ARCHIVES

We keep every donated item and document for future generations.
We’ve been collecting since 1984 and have ammassed a plethera of items. Our goal is to one day have a museum in Trent Lakes to show them off!!!

WE ARE ‘SOCIAL’

We have almost 600 followers on Facebook. Come join the faces and keep up to date on the goings on around Trent Lakes!!

WE ALWAYS NEED VOLUNTEERS

Whether you have talents in scanning, organizing, researching or even just being able to talk to people, we have numerous unpaid but fulfilling positions!
Having a passion for genealogy would of course help too! And  if your family has ties to the area….please reach out!!
We need anbassadors for our small museum at the old Railway Station in the village of KInmount in the summer and also with the Kinmount Pioneer Society at the annual KInmount Fair!

WE ADAPT OUR CONTENT TO INCLUDE EVERYONE

Don’t worry about our resources being out of reach either technologically or physically. We can accomodate anyone’s abilities whether you are just starting out or you’re an ‘old pro’ . We can even ‘zoom’ for persons who are stuck inside. Of course we email and message through our social media pages as well. And don’t forget the phone!!!
There’s litterally no excuse not to start!!!

Testimonials

Don’t take our word for it – here’s what fellow family sleuths have to say:

“Hi Janet,
On behalf of the Curtin Family and everyone else in your article, Thank-you so much!!
You did a great job putting all that together. Short and to the point.
Take Care.”

Paul Curtin

“I have lived in this area for twenty three years. My great grandparents are buried in the Catholic cemetery in Kinmount Ont. I have visited their graves over the years wondering where they were born, who are my ancestors? Luckily, through a cousin of mine I contacted Janice Stange. She is a volunteer at the Kinmount Heritage Centre with the Greater Harvey Historical Society. Barb Cain and the society have welcomed me with open arms. They are researching my ancestry for me. I will eventually be presented with a book. My maternal and fraternal ancestors’ history will be combined. What a wonderful book I will have for my family. The ladies that I have met at the meetings are so kind and helpful. They are helping to solve my queries about my ancestors.”
